In November and December Madrid is adorned with the most beautiful lights, but watching all of them is complicated (even more with the cold temperatures). To help you is the Navibús 2014: a special bus that makes a tour under all the lights. Tireless, safe from the cold and enjoyable for 40 minutes, it is the best plan with or without kids!
There are different Christmas trees and streets that shine thanks to famous Spanish fashion designers such as Ángel Schlesser, Ana Locking, Teresa Sape, Hannibal Laguna, Purificación García and the architect Ben Mathis Busche. Thanks to this route, you won’t lose any of them.
The frequency of service is every 5 minutes. The point of departure and arrival is at Los Jardines del Descubrimiento (Serrano, 30). The route starts here and continues along Serrano street, through Puerta de Alcalá, Cibeles, Gran Vía, Callao, Santo Domingo square, San Bernardo street, Velázquez street, Ortega y Gasset street and back again to Serrano.
Until January 6, 70 buses with two floors will pass through the streets of Madrid -not on December 24 and 31, and on January 6-. The schedule is: Sunday and Monday, from 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm; Thursday to Saturday, from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm. The price is €2 for general public, €1.50 for people older than 65 and free for kids under 7.
This is not the first year that the Navibús makes its tour. It started five or six years ago and each Christmas it is a success. So, we recommend going one hour before than the time that you want to ride, because there will -probably- be long queues. Don’t worry for the tickets, you must pay just before catching the bus.
Enjoy Christmas roading Madrid!
