If you’re looking for the top 10 places you just have to see in the city center in Madrid, you’re in luck! We’re absolutely in love with this city, and often play “tourist” if it means discovering new hidden gems in this magical city. We will start at the 0’00 point in the entire country: Sol. On this map you’ll find neighborhoods like Chueca and La Latina. Chueca represents the progressive Madrid that is open, accepting, and at the cutting edge in the culinary scene. In La Latina, you’ll see a more traditional Madrid, and also be able to experience El Rastro, the weekly outdoor market. The Filmoteca is a Madrid staple that many locals go to, and it’s located next to the Mercado de Antón Martín, so if you get hungry after watching a film, that is the place to go! The Caixa Forum is another hidden gem that often gets overlooked because of its proximity to the Prado and Reina Sofia: however, their exhibits are great! Don’t miss it! The Botanical Gardens are magical, and great for photos, or simply taking a stroll, and in the area of Fundación Mapfre, where they host free concerts and exhibits, you’ll also find the Salamanca and Salesas neighborhoods. They are the poshest areas in the city, and if you’re looking to window shop, or dine like royalty, this is the area for you! We ended the route in Plaza de España because that’s where you can find one of the best sunsets in all the city! Check out the park, and also the Templo de Debod, a gift from Egypt to Spain. Make an evening of it!
