Museo del Traje presents the first retrospective exhibition of one of the great names of classical haute couture, Pedro Rovira i Planas.
Pedro Rovira born in Badalona, Spain in 192. He was the couturier of the golden age of haute couture & was involved in the consolidation of the “prêt-à-porter“, from the end of the 60s and throughout the 70s. In parallel to his dedication to sewing, he created collections, to be produced in a series by the industry and marketed both in Spain and abroad.
In this exhibit a selection of works that has almost 250 pieces created by the Catalan designer between 1948 and 1978 is exhibited. Among the pieces included in the sample are costumes, coats, wedding dresses and accessories. In addition to the sewing pieces, it also has drawings, objects and photographs related to fashion.
