Nativity Scene in Madrid

There is a Nativity Scene at Plaza de Cibeles until the 7th of January. Viewing time is from 10:15-20h. Head over and see the real life representation of the birth of Jesus.

Staying in the city or visiting the city for Christmas, you will have the opportunity to visit the Nativity Scene in Madrid. The Nativity Scene is located at the Patio of Operations of the Palacio de Cibeles.

The nativity scene will have more than 250 figures representing what occurred during the birth of Jesus. José Luis Mayo Lebrija is the craftsman that created all of the figures and the scene was designed by the Association of Belenistas of Madrid. 

This year the nativity scene is an elaborate display that includes some novelties such as the Egyptian temple and showing of the traditional scenes of birth. The scene is set by unique architectures and scale landscapes that you will be able to see and enjoy throughout the palace. The nativity scene is made of materials such as cork, moss and sands of different kinds have been used, natural vegetation and water for the river that crosses the scene.

Entrance is free.

Times to visit are:

  • until the 23rd of December: 10:15-20h.
  • 24th, 25th, 31st of December & 5th of January: 10:15-14h
  • 1st & 6th of January: 10:15-19:30 with access every 15 minutes.
