Mascaraed Ball at Círculo de Bellas Artes

Carnaval hits Madrid this week, and with it comes one of the biggest nights of the year- the Masquerade Ball. This time hosted at seventh heaven in Círculo de Bellas Artes (CBA), surrounded by magnificent views of the Spanish capital.

This year’s theme is communication in the internet age. The name “Carnaval Post“ (and yes you can hashtag it), being inspired by the tribunes, heralds, dailies’, and observer projectiles that made it onto every doorstep for most of the last century.

And their poster boy?

“Remember, remember the 5th of November. Gunpowder, treason, and cult favourite “Anonymous” from Allan Moore’s “V” for Vendetta.”

Guests are welcome to gussy up as Guy Fawlkes, but that was never really your thing, then might we suggest a hashtag, iPad, or the Twitter bird?

When you’re done picking out your best interpretation of a Gmail account, you’re going to want to see the line up. Carnaval is about living large. So no surprise then that this year’s line up includes Carlos Jean, Deivhook, Carlos Ardiya, The Ladies, Shambaiala Batucada Página, Djfönk, Jesús Bombín, and Underground Groove.

So whether you’re a sucker for the movie, the masks, or are just looking to get in on the biggest, baddest event at this years Carnaval. You’d better grab your best ball gown, smartphone, and Jacobian moustache and get yourself down to CBA on Saturday the 25th of February.

This isn’t one you’re going to miss.

Entrance

  • General (+1 drink) = 40€
  • Group (+1 drink, Minimum 6 people) = 28€
  • CBA Members (+1 drink) = 32€
