The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo exhibits Landscapes of Madrid, an exhibition that brings together works on landscapes and interiors that reconstructs the transformation that the city underwent in the transition from the 19th to the 20th century.
The painters of the moment have left us with an innovative vision of these profound changes. The landscape ceases to be conceived as mere background or topographical curiosity to constitute a defined artistic genre. Through the exhibition Landscapes of Madrid we can see the changes in the city through architectural motifs, popular figures, pure urban scenes etc.
In this exhibition you can find 18 landscapes of Madrid and also “interiors”, all belonging to the funds of Museo de Arte Contemporáneo.
