Museo del Romanticismo is exhibiting Illusion & Photography in Romanticism exhibit. It is focuses on the romantic era when photography was born & how it reached the general public. Giving rise to the culture of the images.
The exhibition consists of 20 historical photographs located in the museum’s rooms, through which you can find out how people lived in the Elizabethan interiors that are now being reconstructed in the Museum’s rooms. We will learn how the social gatherings, the mask dances, or the games that entertained the bourgeoisie in their salons were. The exposed images were created by and for fun, they are an illusion, a deception of sense.
The assembly is designed to appreciate the different photographic techniques, through special viewers located in the rooms of the Museum. The viewers replicate those that were used at the time to appreciate the optical games that were developed throughout the history of photography.
