Already visited Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca & El escorial, and want to know where to go next? We would recommend you to explore the city Consuegra. This hidden city is a perfect one day getaway to explore the famous windmills of the region of La Mancha.
Consuegra is the city where one of the finest saffron is grown. It is celebrated in the village with its annual Fiesta de le Rosa del Azafrán. It is the home to Spain best preserved windmills, known locally as Molinos de Viento. These windmills lines the crest of a hill just outside the village, with a medieval castle standing between them. From here you can get great views over the surrounding plains and the windmills. The view from the castle is a sweet spot for making your amazing travel pictures.
The tourist office is housed inside one of the windmills giving you a chance to step inside, and it doesn’t end here: one of the mills is turned into a place to have drinks overlooking the breathtaking view.
